5K Race for Open Space

and 1 Mile Walk / Fun Run

22 June Update

The 5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Run are both closed!

Next year's run will be held Wednesday, June 23rd.

To expand our efforts to take the race GREEN we will be reducing the number of paper flyers mailed. To guarantee early notification, please send your email address to 5k@texmexconnection.com and we will be sure keep you updated.

If you would like to support our worthwhile beneficiary, The Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association, to support open space preservation become a member today.

Consider Phil’s Tavern 5K Race – July 15

Save-the-Date: The Walk for the Wissahickon, Sunday, October 4, 2009

If you are already registered please consider public transportation: The R5 regional rail and Bus Route 96 have stops very close to the restaurant.

If you are driving please watch for Tex Mex Temporary Parking Signs and our volunteer parking guides, in the orange vests, as you enter the borough for the best parking.

Registration

The 5k race is now sold out!
The 1 mile walk/fun run is still accepting participants.

Team Registration

All teams must be pre-registered at Lin-Mark's Team Captain Program.

20th Anniversary T-Shirts!

In celebration of the 20th year, everyone will receive a Tech-Wick shirt while supplies last. The shirts are available in men’s or women’s cut. Sign up by June 10 to be guaranteed a shirt.

Tex Mex Connection is Proud to be Green

Complete with recycling and composting! All 5K dinnerware, cups and racecourse water cups are now biodegradable.

Party After the Race

All participants and volunteers are invited to the 20th Anniversary Celebration and Award Ceremony after the race in Tex Mex Connection’s parking lot. Show your race number and receive a complimentary taco platter and a beer or margarita! Photo ID is required.

Hungry for more? Call 215-699-9552 and make a reservation for dinner.

Stay and Enjoy the Party Under the Stars

The parking lot turns into a party with a cash bar and live music by Mike Greer from 8:00pm - 11:00pm. Photo ID is required.

Rules of the Race

No dogs allowed in the race or at the restaurant. Any wheeled strollers MUST race at the back of the pack. Recycle, recycle and recycle – please!

Parking

Look for 5K parking signs as you enter North Wales The race is accessible by SEPTA’s R5 line / North Wales or SEPTA’s #96 bus. Check the Tex Mex Connection web site for parking places

Buy a 20th Anniversary Glass

Includes your choice of a 16 oz. draft beer glass or a 12 oz. Margarita glass.

Volunteers Needed

The Watershed Association needs over 80 volunteers a to help direct the runners, man the water stops and help at the finish line. It’s a fun (and filling) way to spend a summer evening, plus you get a t-shirt! Most volunteers are needed from 5:30 - 8:00 PM; additional volunteers are needed from noon on.
